You mean they put raw sewage in our rivers?
According to data supplied by The Rivers Trust on their recently updated Sewage Map, during 2023, sewer storm overflows operated by Anglian Water released untreated sewage into the River Tiffey over fifty times, equating to more than 450 hours of release time.
Now this may not seem like a lot, but our local river is small and fragile and supports a myriad of wildlife. With biodiversity across the country in crisis, this activity must be reduced to an absolute bare minimum if we are to give wildlife a fighting chance of any sort of recovery.
Explore the Sewage Map for yourself (you can select data going back to 2019 by selecting maps by year) and if you’re unhappy about how Anglian Water is abusing out landscape and want to do something about this, then voice your concerns with our local MP either directly or by using the Rivers Trust’s handy email generator.
We cannot let them get away with this!
